Braintree Electric Light Dept. (BELD) will have a special presence this Saturday, Oct. 4th from 9 to 1, at the Braintree Farmers Market. BELD is celebrating national Public Power Week and Customer Appreciation Day at the market. BELD customers can visit with BELD staff who will answer your questions about their new solar energy project and broadband offerings. To promote the viability of solar energy BELD has been powering a water cooler and amplification for our musicians with a solar-powered generator every Saturday at the market. Kids are encouraged to pick up a hardhat and explore the bucket truck. There will be free apple cider from C.N. Smith Farm along with a free drawing for Braintree residents to win a ‘Taste of the Market’ gift basket. Fill out the entry form in BELD’s Bright Ideas newsletter included in September’s electric bill and drop it off at BELD’s tent at the market.
Thanks to a sponsorship by BELD the farmers’ market has expanded it’s music program to present music every Saturday not just on special event dates. This coming Saturday enjoy the acoustic tunes of Ray Papile.
